What is Silicone Sealant?

Silicone sealant is an elastomer (rubber-like material) composed of silicone-itself a polymer-containing silicone together with carbon, hydrogen,and oxygen. Silicone sealant also called silicone caulk,siicone rubber, silicone glue and silicone adhesive. Silicone sealant are widely used in industry and there are multiple formulations.Silicone sealant are often one-part or two-part polymers, and may contain fillers to improve properties or reduce cost. Silicone sealant is generally non-reactive,stable and resistant to extreme environments and temperatures from -55°c to 30 °c while still maintaining its useful properties. Due to these properties and its ease of manufacturing and shaping, silicone sealant can be applied in variety of products, including insulating glass, automotive parts, electronics, curtain wall,aluminum windows & doors,etc.
