High gloss
The gloss of glues of different qualities varies after being applied. The color of high-quality glue has a strong gloss after curing, while some low-quality glues have a dull gloss after being applied, and some lose their gloss after curing for one or two months.
The higher the surface gloss, the finer and smoother the glue, and the better the quality; the opposite is true for low-quality glue.
No particles
High-quality sealants are chemical synthetic materials that have been fully and evenly stirred. They have a fine and uniform texture and are smooth and glossy after curing;
Low-quality sealants have some visible particles and debris. After curing, the surface of the glue strip is not as smooth and flat as that of high-quality glue.
Silicone sealants with no gloss and particles often use recycled materials as raw materials. They often yellow severely in the later stage and have poor weather resistance and UV resistance.
No bubbles
The main component of high-quality sealants is silicone, and the amount of other additives is very small, with good stability.
However, because the glue of inferior silicone sealant is not 100% silicone glue, the additives in the silicone and the PE soft glue of the glue bottle may react chemically, causing the glue bottle to "swell", and the air retained in the space to penetrate into the glue to create gaps. The direct manifestation is that the colloid is uneven and there are bubbles!
High tensile strength
Pull the cured silicone strip by hand, the elongation of a good silicone can reach two to three times the original and is not easy to break. After releasing your hand, it can basically return to its original length.
Inferior silicone strips not only do not have a good elongation, but also break directly when a certain tensile strength is reached, lacking elasticity.
Shrinkage and cracking resistance
A series of common sealant cracking, shrinkage, degumming and other problems in life are actually based on the shrinkage resistance of silicone glue. After curing, good quality silicone is stable in size, shrinkage-resistant, and has good displacement resistance.
The reasons for bubbles, low tensile strength and poor shrinkage resistance are mostly that manufacturers add a lot of white oil to the raw materials! In order to reduce production costs, and then engage in vicious competition at low prices.
